Bachata not "Bachatta"
Hi!
My name is "Anonymous". Pleasure
meeting you. I have to tell you, I'm new
here and believe you me, there are some
things that you have to adjust to and
others if you have in your power at all
to change you will try your hardest to
change. Let me explain.
Northern California does not give Bachata
(merengue even) the play it very well
deserves. I do not know about other parts
of CA. I'm new to CA just moved from VA
7 months ago. On the east coast, Bachata
is HUGE. Not because its from the Dominican
Republic and there are a wonderful amount
of Dominicans out there, but because its
just wonderful music; its been around
for years n years. Tight artists like
Monchy y Alexandra, Domenic Marte, Frank
Reyes, Aventura, and the list keeps rolling.
These artists are extremely well known!
When it comes to the clubs on the east
coast, you cannot have one without the
other i.e. Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and
Reggae and reggaeton...basically, all
tropical. I don't understand why the djs
do not rotate the music out here.
Bachata is beautiful, passionate and even
melancholy. I really think the djs need
to be more open and rotate more often
than have Salsa playing most of the night.
If folks really want the Tropical culture,
and a wonderful "workout," rotating
the music is the best thing you can do
for the people out here. Plus, I think
it would bring even more clientele b/c
it would mimic what people like me and
those from Latin America are used to hearing
and are nostalgic for!
I am aware that the Tropical culture is
not really represented at all out here
so I know people do not understand or
know what I am talking about. But I think
this is something you should look into
seriously.
Thanks for listening!
